Kelly completed his 3.5 year apprenticeship with the Wainuiomata Golf Club at the end of 1990. With his partner Davina ( now wife ) they decided there was a need for this knowledge & expertise of Green Keeping is the public sector – domestic market. Professor Turf was born. The Professor Turf name (trademarked) was put into place in 1991 and it continues strongly today. Professor Turf has since become a successful Franchise with full training given by Kelly Houghton, Ernie Leslie and Steve Martin – current franchisees.
